Virtual 5 Network is a social networking service that allows its users to create profiles, use and create chat rooms, upload pictures and videos, add and invite their friends and keep in touch with the general community. All information gathered, received or otherwise gotten hold of on V5N will remain the property of Virtual 5 Network. We will not release or sell any information to any 3rd parties. V5N regards privacy highly. We gather all the information we do on members for security and identity purposes only. It is important and part of our policies that you comply and surrender details about yourself when needed.

This policy also states any information or detail of any member or staff that anyone may come across is to remain within network boundaries, as per this policy. Releasing any detail to any unauthorized person is deemed to be in breach of policy, and appropriate action will be taken. If you are unsure about anything relating to privacy, please contact management. You are not to divulge any private user related information, i.e. emails, passwords, or other information on any user or to any person who does not themselves have access to it.

Policy 1 - Purpose of Collection

The purpose information is collected is to create a database of users and allow them to communicate to the world. Only details users want the public to see are visible. We also collect information for our records which help with statistics and security. These may include what pages you visit, what time you login, the services you use, etc.

Policy 2 - Source of the information

To the best of our ability, information collected will be collected from the source or original origins of the content we require. We may, in appropriate circumstances, protrude out into other means of information collection.

Policy 3 - Collection of information

At any stage we collect information, headings and descriptions will be visible to the party with information such as whom and why the information is being collected. Ensure to fully read the Terms of Service for additional information of what may be collected.
Information gathered could be, but is not limited to: Name, Age, Date of Birth, Sex, City, Country, Languages, IP Address, Nicknames, and E-mail addresses.

Policy 4 - Manner of Collection

We request information and the user may decide to release this information or not. Our online forms are the preferred method of data collection, but may extend to things such as web statistics.
V5N automatically logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site. This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes. Please refer to the Terms of Service for additional information that may be collected and stored.

Policy 5 - Storage and Security

The data will be stored securely on the V5N server and only those personnel and the users who require access will be able to view such information. V5N also has polices in place to ensure data is not leaked, sold, or otherwise released into 3rd party view.

Policy 6 - Access

At any stage the user may request to see what information is stored on them. Users may not request personal information about others on the network. Staff members may have direct or indirect access to privileged, confidential, or private user information. This information will not be released to anyone who is not at the correct level to view this information themselves.

Policy 7 - Correction

At any stage the user may make corrections to the information stored about them or that they have previously entered.

Policy 8 - Accuracy

As the user will enter most of the information; the user will be in control of the accuracy of the information gathered, and the maintenance of that information.

Policy 9 - Length of storage

The information will be kept for as long as the user account is in the database. Users can terminate their accounts at any stage, and this will purge any and all information on any data base held about that user.

Policy 10 - Limits on use

The purpose of the information collected is to be used by V5N for any internal purpose. This includes, but is not limited to: development, security, research. V5N reserves the right to release information from users or staff for 'the great of good', only when members are found to be in breach of standard Law, as set out by any local Government, in which the network would be obliged to take action.

Policy 11 - Limits of disclosure

V5N will not release, distribute or sell any information to any 3rd parties. All information gathered is strictly internal unless deemed necessary to be released and with proper communication with the individual(s) involved.

Users may come across, from time to time, privileged, confidential, or private information. This should remain confidential and not be released to any party under any conditions.
Anything a user uploads to a profile and sets for public access can be viewed by anyone with access to that page. This information could be distributed or otherwise copied by other members of the community.

Policy 12 - Unique identifiers

Usernames, e-mails and registration numbers are used to identify between users to assist in the maintenance, sorting and speed of the database. These are the only form of unique identifiers used.

Policy 13 - Displayed information

Users submit material to their profiles, web chat, forums, and other communication devices on V5N. This material is sent at the user's discretion and users have most ability in choosing what is displayed publicly and what is not.
